IPC (Consumer price index) inflation rate stood at 1.7 % in April - INE

Praia City, 16 May (Inforpress) – The National Statistics Institute (INE) today released data indicating that last April the inflation rate stood at 1.7% and the Consumer Price Index (IPC ) a monthly variation rate of 0.1%.

According to the INE newsletter, the results of the survey in this regard pointed to a decrease of 0.3 percentage points (p.p.) in relation to that recorded in the previous month.

The same document also notes that the accumulated rate of variation of the IPC was 0.0%, a rate lower by 0.3 p.p. than that observed in the same month of the previous year, while the year-on-year rate of change of the total IPC, in the month of April this year, it was 1.0%, accelerating 0.7 p.p., in relation to the previous month.

According to the same source, in the period under analysis, the IPC registered an average variation of 1.7% over the last twelve months, a value 0.3 pp lower than that recorded in the previous month, pointing out at the same time that the underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding energy and unprocessed food) showed a year-on-year variation of 0.9%, a value 0.6 pp higher than that recorded last March.
